Reiki addresses emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances

What is Reiki ?

Reiki is a natural, safe and simple alternative health modality that everyone can use. Because it
helps the body to bring balance to the root cause of disease and imbalance, it can be used
effectively to work with physical, mental/emotional and energetic conditions. Reiki is noninvasive
and can work in conjunction with medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side
effects and promote recovery.

The system of Reiki was created  in the early 20th century by a Japanese man named Mikao Usui, and this system was about spiritual development: - the spiritual development of our own energy. A by-product of this personal inner, spiritual work is to be able to assist others with their own self-healing. As a Japaness system of healing, it brings together meditation and healing touch and is used in a

variety of healthcare settings. In human treatment, there are specific number and order of hand positions placed directly on or above the body of the person. In animals, treatment is approached very differently so that the animals' permission and comfort level during the sessions is insured. Animal's energy field functions on a higher level of vibration, thus their instincts and responses are higher than a humans, which is why it is preceived that they are 'sensitive'. In reality they are responding to their instincts, thus during a session (whether in person or long distance) I use a meditate state, holding a safe and energetic space so the animal is more comfortable to make the decision to receive the energy. Thus the animal will determine the where's , how's and when's of the treatment; becoming the leader of his/her own healing process.

When people ask me, 'what is this Reiki'? I explain it is all about connecting with them through Love and Compassion, heart to heart. The most beautiful way is through meditation - being of no mind and being present which is  where healing takes place! A lesson that so many animals in my travel have taught me ( and still do!), is that being present is the greatest healer!

Reiki and Animals

One of the things about Reiki that is so wonderful for the animals is that you absolutely don't need physical contact or touch, and it is totally gentle and non-invasive. So when we talk about animals who are sick or have been traumatized or abused or have some issues that they need healing with, Reiki can address all of these issues --

  • physical

  • mental

  • emotional

  • spiritual

Whatever the issues are, Reiki can address them all from a gentle, non-invasive space.

I worked with both hands-on or above, as well as through Meditation with all types of animals, both domestic and feral. A Reiki  session is an active treatment that is being offered to the animal as opposed to doing to animals. Which creates that safe healing space for them. It is very different from many other holistic modalities because of its very passive and gentle nature.

That makes it ideal for animals who have been traumatized, who are wild but in captivity like exotic animals in enclosures. You can even offer Reiki in nature to wild creatures, such as some nearby deer who are grazing. And we can also use Reiki for domesticated animals in our homes or the homes of friends.

It is such a beautiful way to connect to another species -- seeing the animals at a deeper level. When you connect in the Reiki space with another being, you see that we are all the same, that we are all connected and we are all one.  And that brings us back to the spiritual ideal that the founder of Usui Ryoho Reiki, Mikao Usui, taught -- to go deeper within ourselves and uncover our true nature, which is, in a nutshell, remembering our oneness with all things.

What occurs when Reiki is offered?

Reiki treatments are offered through intention, focus and meditation creating a healing space of vibrational balance and harmony that can be accessed by the animal to support his or her self-healing process. I do not diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, perform medical treatments or interfere with the prescribed treatment of veterinarians. Nor manipulate energy or control the treatment: animals are the leaders in the process, taking only the amount of energy they wish to receive.

When offering Reiki to an animal, if in person, it is best to offer it from several feet away and allow the animal to come forward to receive hands-on treatment only if he or she is open to it. If so, many times, they will show me exactly where to place my hands by moving their body to that area!

  • Animals are very sensitive so even if I am not touching your animal she will still benefit, which you will be able to see by their body language

  • Several signs that your animal is receptive to Reiki energy is a calmness, yawning, sleeping, going their favorite place, and or movement including eating and or walking around. There is a shift in the energy and you will also feel relaxation, peacefulness as well as tingling energy and or vibrational energy within.

  • If your animal is going through any trauma or is shy/timid, long distance Reiki is more appropriate. Remember, energy is everywhere, thus long distance sessions are just as effective for healing.

Distance Reiki

Quantum physics describe this phenomenon as a non-local quantum hologram, which means that information via the mind/body can be accessed by connected parties without the parties being in the presence of each other. We 'connect' by using the name and or a picture of the person or animal.

Reiki can be performed from a distance. Reiki energy knows no bounds, thus you & and your animal can receive the session from the comfort of your own home or wherever your animal is (i.e., barns, stable, pasture etc.) and can be effectively performed from any distance, whether you are across the city, or in a different country. Since animals are sensitive especially for those that are shy, timid, recovering from surgery/illness or traumazied, distance sessions are ideal to ensure their comfort.

Benefits of a Remote or Distance Reiki Session

• It can be used in emergency situations.

• It can be performed on clients (humans & animals) who live anywhere in the world.

• It allows the client to stay in the comfort of their own home while reducing any existing trauma- injury that the animal or human may be experiencing

Distance treatments are highly effective and are completely safe. There are no known contraindications to treatment and can be used in conjunction with your other healthcare and lifestyle choices. Everyone can benefit from receiving a distance session. Allowing the bodymind of the recipient to decide what needs to be healed is critical. This means that your well-being  as well as your animal is always respected while ensuring both are getting the best possible results. During a session, I the practitioner, serves as an observer while the body highlights and brings into focus those aspects of your bodymind that are ready to be healed. The results are often very profound and long-lasting. Read what clients have experienced here.

The Complexities of our Brain

It is well known that humans only use a small fraction of their brain. When using proper techniques, it is possible to unleash the endless possibilities of the brain. The brain is able to function at a number of different cycles, one of which is the alpha state mentioned above. In this state the brain is functioning at optimal levels with much faster and more efficient operation.

The Science Behind It

• Quantum physics describe this phenomenon as a non-local quantum hologram, which means that information via the mind/body can be accessed by connected parties without the parties being in the presence of each other. We 'connect' by using the name and address of the client.

• In scientific experiments, when live cells from the same person are separated by miles, whatever is done to one of the cells is reflected in the other cells miles away.

• Non-local events happen all the time. For example, have you ever heard of a person who knew something was happening to a person close to them even though they were separated by thousands of miles. Experiments with dogs have shown that some dogs can detect the moment their owner leaves work to come home (the distance is well beyond the capabilities of the sense of smell)

Why is Reiki an Ideal Holistic Therapy for Animals ?

  • It is gentle, noninvasive, painless and stress-free.

  • It goes to the issues that need it the most, even when unknown to the practitioner.

  • It can be given hands-on or from a distance and adpated to any problem an animal may face.
