On behalf of SARA (Shelter Animal Reiki Association) and myself (SARA Practitioner), we would like to thank all the volunteers with BHS (Baltimore Humane Society) for coming out for the Self-Healing For Animal Caregivers Class this pass Sunday!
We discussed basic information about Reiki energy and and practiced relaxation and stress-relief Meditation techniques including the 5 Reiki Precepts. The #1 occupational hazard of working with shelthered animals is Compassion Fatigue. The students learned how Reiki Meditation allows them to be a calm state where healing occurs; and learned how animals are very sensitive to a human's mindset.
BHS is one of many SARA Organizations. We are shelters, sanctuaries and other facilities that have adopted the SARA way in order to further assist animals in need. These organizations are dedicated to providing a peaceful and compassionate place for animals to recover.
