Are there really people out there that are stress-free? Absolutely! So before reading the details below, just sit back, close your eyes and just notice your breathing. Don't think about anything else like what you have to do in the next 15 minutes or what ever.
Take about 5-10 slow deep breaths in through your nose & exhale through the nose... and empty your thoughts. When you find yourself racing with thoughts again, focus on your breathing....stay here as long as you like. The article will still be here for you to read, so don't (think) you will miss out on something!

So how do you feel? Hopefully more relaxed and your mind is quiet. What you just did is 1. of the 5 things stress-free people do on a daily basis. Its a wonderful relaxation technique that helps lower one's stress level and can be done as a meditation for a couple of minutes as well as a throughout the day to avoid feeling stress as well as energies you! By the way, there is a ton of scientific evidence to support how deep breathing provides a slue of benefits for the body. The Science of Slow Deep Breathing by Matthew MacKinnon MD in psychology today provides details of how it benefits, the brain, heart, and improvement of oxygen and nutrient delivery.
2. Exercise. Yup the body was designed to move and you know the old saying, "If you don't use it you'll lose it." Think about it, if you've been either putting it off, or have never started regardless of age (cause that to me is just an excuse), just take your self back to the time when you were more active whether it was walking, swimming, yoga, weight lifting etc, didn't you feel better? Focused and ready for the day or a great way to end the day. If you're not sure where to start, talk with your doctor.
3. Connect with the outdoors. Whether you are just sitting outside during lunch break, or have an opportunity to go hiking, get yourself outside to connect with Mother Nature. Our planet is beautiful and the energy she provides is waiting for you. When you connect with the moment of being outside, just notice what's around you; the sounds you heard, and don't forget to look up! The sky whether day or night time is breath taking! Oh, there's that word again, breath!
4. Gratitude. This is huge. Everyday and many times throughout the day, I personally am in awe of how grateful I am from the little things in life to those moments that may be preceived as 'negative' are really positive, for I believe everything happens for a reason. So look around you and I have a feeling your list will grow as you realize you have so much to be grateful for and you will notice how your day flows with more positive energy.
5. Be present. Accept each moment as they are. This is all about letting go of the ego and the worry's and problems that havent' happen yet! You see its the ego that craves to be in control of everything. Being present in the now accepting whatever circumstances without emotionally resisting, allows one to address what needs to be done, staying focus in that moment. Learning to be present takes practice. Echkart Tolle is a contemporary spiritual teacher has many books understanding what it means to be in the moment. I highly recommend any of his books. "Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have."
For pet parents and animal care-takers, you are all blessed to be in the presence of them. Animals are naturally in the moment and this is one thing that bears mentioning; spending time whether playing, grooming, taking a walk with them, or just sitting or laying on floor with them, is a beautiful moment of sharing with your pet! This is just another thing that stress-free people do for a balanced wellness day!

Feel free to comment and share your thoughts on what works for you so others may benefit!
